Former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhny will take up the post of Ukrainian Ambassador to Great Britain within a few weeks, London has agreed on his candidacy. This was announced on April 23 by the adviser to the head of the office of the Ukrainian president, Mikhail Podolyak.

“As far as I understand, everything has already been officially approved, he will be an ambassador, meaning Agreman [согласие на прием посла] and protocol procedures of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. I think it’s a matter of weeks, coordination of some logistics procedures is necessary,” – he said on the air of the Kyiv 24 TV channel.

As Podolyak noted, “not everyone can withstand the load,” so personnel rotation is a normal process in the state.

Earlier, on March 7, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry announced the appointment of ex-commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny to the post of ambassador to the UK. A request for preliminary consent to his appointment has been sent to the British side. Vladimir Zelensky explained Zaluzhny’s appointment by his personal desire to work as a diplomat.
