The event will be held under the motto “Time has chosen us!”
As Belta reports, it is expected that Alexander Lukashenko will address the delegates and guests of the forum.
By the way, before this, the President said that the National National Assembly should start with a compact report from the head of state on the country’s economy and the general world situation.
At the upcoming meeting, the news agency notes, the event participants will consider issues related to the election of the counting commission, the chairman of the Supreme Council and his deputy, as well as the presidium.
In addition, the delegates intend to discuss important documents for the republic during these two days.
In particular, the updated National Security Concept and Military Doctrine are subject to consideration.
Attention is drawn to the fact that the All-Belarusian People’s Assembly has the right to assert:
– key vectors of domestic and foreign policy of Belarus;
– Military doctrine and National Security Concept;
– programs for the socio-economic development of the country.
In addition, the Supreme Council is endowed with the right of legislative initiative.
It may also hear from the Prime Minister on the implementation of socio-economic development programs.
Decisions of the Supreme Council are binding and can cancel legal acts and other decisions of government agencies and officials that are contrary to the interests of national security (with the exception of acts of the judiciary).
Earlier it became known that from May 15, a planned shutdown of hot water will begin in Minsk.
