China will take adequate measures in response to the deployment of American medium-range missiles in the Philippines. Official representative of the Ministry of Defense of the People’s Republic of China Wu Qian stated this at a press conference, TASS reports.
“We strongly oppose the US deployment of medium-range ballistic missiles in the Asia-Pacific region. Our position is clear and consistent. The US steps pose a serious threat to the security of the countries in the region, and also cause serious damage to peace and stability in the region, they will inevitably lead to decisive countermeasures from China,” – he said.
Wu Qian added that China will take strong retaliatory measures. According to him, the PRC hopes that “the relevant countries will not let the wolf into the house, so as not to harm others or themselves.”
On April 15, the press service of the US Army Pacific Command reported that during an exercise in the northern Philippines, an American MRC (Mid-Range Capability) class missile system was deployed for the first time.
