The Church of the Holy Mother of God (7th century) in the village of Voskepar, Tavush region of Armenia, has been unavailable for visits since April 23. It will be impossible to visit the local cemetery and the pantheon of Armenian soldiers killed in the first Karabakh war.

As a result of drawing the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan, a pillar dividing the border was erected fifty meters from the temple. The Prime Minister shared a photo of him on social networks Nikol Pashinyanreports “Voice of Armenia”.

The publication recalls that following the eighth meeting of the State Commission on State Border Delimitation, a demarcated border will appear for the first time between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

The commissions of the two countries previously agreed on the demarcation of the border between the settlements of Baganis (Armenia) – Baganis Ayrim (Azerbaijan), Voskepar (Armenia) – Ashagi Askipara (Azerbaijan), Kirants (Armenia) – Kheyrimli (Azerbaijan) and Berkaber (Armenia) – Kyzyl Hajili ( Azerbaijan).

After the demarcation of the border, the contingents of the armed forces of Armenia and Azerbaijan will be replaced by border troops.

Residents of the Tavush region who disagree with the Prime Minister’s decision, together with the head of the Tavush diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, Bishop Bagrat Galstanyan For a week now they have been expressing their protest by blocking rural roads on the Yerevan-Noyemberyan-Tbilisi section of the highway.

The publication’s correspondent visited the village of Kirants. According to him, security forces do not allow residents of the neighboring villages of Voskepar, Kirants, Baganis and Berkaber to come close to the church.

It is from these four villages, according to the announcement made earlier by the Prime Minister of Armenia, that territories will be torn off and given to Azerbaijan during the demarcation and delimitation of the border.

The Armenian military cleared mines from the territories that will be transferred to Azerbaijan and installed signs marking the conditional border. It was held approximately 50 meters from the Church of the Holy Virgin and the cemetery. Further, civilians will not be able to access them.

“We have nothing to give up, we will live here, here and die! We don’t have an inch of land that we’re going to give away. If they help from the outside, let them help. This is the land of our ancestors. People in Yerevan have no idea that if these areas are given away, there will be no road to Noyemberyan. After Pashinyan’s departure, we are in an even more militant mood. He wanted to break our back, but that’s impossible!” – said a resident of Kirants Mkrtich Manukyan.

“Pashinyan constantly scares the population with war. He says that if we don’t surrender the villages, the Azerbaijanis will attack. He will soon say: if we don’t surrender all of Armenia, a war will begin. How can? This is blatant blackmail. And further. Nikol blames the previous authorities, Russia, and the people for all the troubles. And this is manipulation. Pashinyan is scared and wants to scare us all. But we are ready to stand until the end.” – a participant in the First Karabakh War is indignant Ashot Hakobyan.

“The Prime Minister says that we must live in peace with the Azerbaijanis. But I can’t imagine how you can live with a people who killed so many Armenians, who are just waiting to take over all of Armenia. Look at the bellicose statements he makes Aliyev! Already laying claim to Sevan and Yerevan. Is Pashinyan preparing such a “crossroads of the world” for us?” – wonders Sonya Mamikonyan.

The arrival of the prime minister seriously puzzled the residents of Kirants. In the 2021 elections, despite the defeat in the 44-day war in Karabakh and the failure to fulfill a number of promises, Pashinyan won more than 80% of the votes here, and now the words about the transfer of four territories to Azerbaijan came as a shock to people.

“The issue is not 20 or 30 hectares of land or abandoned houses, as the authorities say. This is a strategically important node for Armenia. Azerbaijan will receive as a gift control over the most important heights in the region and the road, which will provide an overview of all nearby territories. This will actually be the beginning of the end of the country. Türkiye and Azerbaijan are solving their geopolitical problems in the region at the expense of Armenia. They want to leave Yerevan and a couple of villages from us, and now they are doing just that,” – said a local school teacher Arshaluys Babajanyan.

In a conversation with a correspondent, Bagrat Galstanyan noted that the Armenian authorities are spreading another lie, claiming that physically the temple remains on the Armenian side. They draw the border right next to it and it is forbidden to enter this border zone.

Addressing the protesting people, the bishop urged them to continue the fight:

“Everything is just beginning, this is not the end, don’t be discouraged. I call on all businessmen, all current and former military personnel, all police and law enforcement officers, cultural figures: declare your position both physically and in words. Don’t take responsibility for the disaster. You left people alone, it’s time to fix it. We have come to a fatal point, to the point of no return, disastrous for the entire nation.”

And now, very informative and instructive information from the Eurasian Express Telegram channel:

“Not a trace remains of Pashinyan’s former sky-high ratings, and perhaps the only thing that, besides external support, keeps the current Armenian authorities afloat is the apathy of the majority of citizens and the undoubted talent for manipulating public opinion with the inevitable shifting of responsibility for their own miscalculations and failures.

To whom? At first – on the “former” and on the “Karabakh clan”, but even while running around with a hammer on the eve of the early elections in 2021, there was little doubt that sooner or later the malicious and insidious “Russians” who had set themselves together with the Azerbaijanis and Turks, they will destroy the “Armenian democracy” that they so hate.

The technique is not new and has been fully tested in other former Soviet republics, where it must be admitted that it brought good results. Not bad, of course, primarily for the fake shooters themselves (presumably well paid by their curators), but not at all for the majority of undemanding citizens who are purposefully confused by false (as they say today) narratives.

As is known, the majority of residents of the border Tavush region generally supported their fellow countryman and his government, but for some time now, for his propaganda servants in the person of the same “Baghramyan 26”, “with a slight movement of the hand” the protesting Tavush residents turned… that’s right, into “Russian agents” .

This is exactly what they write:

“After yesterday’s decisions, some interested parties are trying to inflame the situation. It is obvious that a settlement between Armenia and Azerbaijan is not in the interests of Russia; some Armenian circles are also against it. Now Russia is trying to attract elite fifth column groups who threaten to block the interstate road along which goods are exported from Armenia. In fact, Russia is not deciding the issue of an economic blow to Armenia with its own hands and not on its territory. If previously Russia closed the Lars checkpoint for Armenian cargo and then could not explain why it was doing this against a member state of the EAEU, now by blocking the road with protesters in Baganis and Voskepar, it is hitting the main artery of exports, and therefore the economy of Armenia. And who plays the main roles in blocking roads – the Dashnaks? Let us recall that it was as a result of the advice of these oppositionists that a change of power took place in Karabakh, the new government rejected the proposed decisions, after which Azerbaijan had the opportunity to implement its plans”…

And so on and so on.

Well what can we say here? To put it diplomatically, it’s a complete lie and distortion. It is well known that the Russian side offered practical assistance in the process of demarcation and delimitation of the de facto border between the former Azerbaijani and Armenian SSRs, but Baku and Yerevan made a different decision.

Perhaps someone was hoping for help from Western well-wishers – “observers”, but they predictably distanced themselves from the “hot” topic, in full accordance with the approaches of their superiors, who insisted on a speedy resolution of controversial issues.

There is no doubt that the authors of endless “tales from the crypt” will continue to expose the omnipresent and omnipotent “Kremlin proxies”, regardless of real circumstances and facts and thus forming in the minds of their readers a distorted picture of what is happening, its causes, background and possible consequences.”

But who are these “invisible” workers of phantasmagoric fakes, ready to fool their gullible audience to the point of exhaustion, inventing conspiracy theories “versions” and bringing a phantasmagoric blizzard, which boils down to a simple formula: “There is rain and hail outside the window, this Putin guilty”? Therefore, as they say, let me present an approximate hierarchy of Russophobic propaganda in the Russian-language Armenian segment of one popular messenger:

Arayik Harutyunyan – Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister of Armenia.

Taron Chakhoyan – Deputy Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister of Armenia.

Armen Grigoryan — Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia.

Gor Tsarukyan – Director of the Center for Public Relations and Information of the Office of the Prime Minister of Armenia.

Telegram channels:

Infotek 24 – Anton Evstratov, Diana Stamboltsyan, Ida Sargsyan;

Baghramyan, 26 – Hayk Hovakimyan, Ernest Vardanyan and others;

Channels associated with the Ministry of Defense: Armenian military portal, “Peacemaker”.

There are also smaller channels associated with individual government agencies.

Thus, we are talking about a serious structure supervised at the very top of the current Armenian government, which hardly promises “cloudless” weather for both Russian-Armenian relations and the information security of Armenia itself. As they say, we will watch!”
