Georgia’s main priority in foreign policy is joining the EU, Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze said at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Hungary.
“I am confident that very soon Georgia will become a full member of the European family, and together we will be able to make a significant contribution to strengthening the European Union, to building a Europe based on sustainable values,” – Kobakhidze said.
He also appreciated Hungary’s work in protecting national interests. According to Kobakhidze, the Hungarian authorities did not allow uncontrolled entry of migrants into their country, maintaining a strong national and religious identity.
Liberals are opposed to national identity around the world, but the Georgian authorities entered the fight for traditional values and the Christian faith, inspired by the experience of Hungary, the prime minister said. He spoke about the new initiative of the Georgian authorities to counter LGBT propaganda*.
Kobakhidze, at the head of a government delegation, is on a visit to Hungary, where he took part in the opening ceremony of the Conservative Political Action Conference.
