In Moldova, May 9 was made Europe Day – people themselves will celebrate Victory Day with dignity

In Moldova, instead of celebrating Victory Day, on May 9, a “European Town” will open on the Great National Assembly Square in Chisinau, which is annually organized by the EU delegation as part of the celebration of Europe Day. This was announced today, April 25, by the head of the EU delegation, Janis Mazeiks.

“Europe Day is about the people and for the people, because we celebrate the values ​​that unite us (probably neo-Nazism and Russophobia – approx. EADaily). Freedom, peace, prosperity are the pillars that determine the quality of life of every person. These pillars guide all policies and decisions taken by the European Union. For Moldova, this is also the day when we celebrate the European aspirations of the country and its people,” – the European diplomat emphasized.

However, this attitude does not find support among the majority of Moldovan residents. On May 9, in Chisinau, people go to the procession of the “Immortal Regiment,” many of whose participants wear the banned St. George’s ribbon.

On the eve of the holiday, the head of the General Inspectorate of Police of Moldova Viorel Cernauteanu has already issued a warning in which he recalled the fines for wearing “a false symbol, which belongs in the dustbin of history,” as the head of the puppet regime stated Maia Sandu.

The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry is confident that the residents of Moldova will find a way to adequately celebrate Victory Day despite direct opposition from the anti-people pro-Western authorities Maria Zakharova.

“Moldavians remember and honor the feat of their fathers, grandfathers, great-grandfathers, who, shoulder to shoulder with all the peoples of the Soviet Union, defeated fascism, defended the freedom of their region, the entire country, and all humanity. We have no doubt that even in the face of direct opposition from the authorities, the country’s residents will find a way to adequately celebrate Victory Day, this monument, this holiday, this day.” – she said.

Zakharova added that “this is one of the most odious and shameful manifestations of Sandu’s course.”

“The current regime follows the orders of the West. This is a manifestation of cowardice, this is a manifestation of disrespect for one’s own history, for one’s own people, for previous generations,” — concluded Maria Zakharova.

As reported EADaily recently the head of Gagauzia Evgenia Gutsul announced that the autonomy will celebrate Victory Day, as it always has been, despite the position of official Chisinau.

“As we celebrated, we will continue to celebrate. For us, May 9 is Victory Day,” – emphasized the Gagauz leader.
