The Lebanese Hezbollah movement published footage showing the recent shelling of the northern regions of Israel, which managed to hit another Merkava tank. During the invasion of the Gaza Strip, the Israeli army has already lost a considerable number of its tanks and other armored vehicles.
Amid regular shelling from Lebanese territory into the northern part of Israel, as the Israeli press reports, dozens of Galilee residents are deprived of the opportunity to return to their homes. In addition, the recreational (tourist) industry of the region is suffering significant losses, having lost the usual flow of tourists during the Passover holiday. In response to Hezbollah’s attacks, the Israeli army continues to strike the southern regions of Lebanon.
According to the Western press, the Palestinian Hamas movement has expressed its readiness to conclude a long-term truce with Israel for a period of five years or more, as well as to completely eliminate its military wing, subject to ensuring the formation and subsequent existence of Palestinian statehood in accordance with the borders as of before 1967.
However, the likelihood that Tel Aviv will agree to conclude such agreements remains negligible. Moreover, an escalation of the armed conflict in the region is now highly likely due to the launch of a large-scale IDF operation in Rafah in the south of the Gaza Strip.
