Chinese commercial vehicle manufacturer Maxus has unveiled its latest product, the eDeliver 5, a mid-size electric van. The model slots between the smaller eDeliver 3 and larger eDeliver 7 in the company’s lineup. Like other vans from the brand, the eDeliver 5 is powered exclusively by electric drive with a 64 kWh battery that provides a WLTP range of up to 335 km. In urban conditions, at low speeds, the range can reach 480 km. The van has a length of 4.8 meters and a width of 1.87 meters, which makes it relatively compact. Two roof heights are proposed – 1.96 and 2.18 meters, with the lower one being low enough to fit into multi-level car parks. Cargo space is 6.6 cubic meters in the standard version and 7.6 cubic meters in the high-roof version, with both versions having a payload capacity of 1,200 kg. The cargo floor measures 2.65 meters long and 1.7 meters wide. The van body is equipped with two sliding side doors and double rear doors, as well as load securing points. Standard equipment includes adaptive cruise control, lane change warning and lane keep assist, 360-degree cameras, rear parking sensors and a speed warning system with traffic sign recognition. The instrument panel features a 12.3-inch central touchscreen with support for wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. “The young Maxus brand has quickly established itself as a pioneer in the electric vehicle sector. While we may be perceived as disruptive, our commitment to advancing EV technology remains the same. Since 2016, we have introduced ten outstanding commercial and passenger vehicles to the UK market, eight of which are fully electric,” said Mark Barrett, Managing Director of Maxus. Maxus eDeliver 5 is now available to order, with first deliveries expected in August this year.
