The announcement of the first hybrid Lada model took place. AvtoVAZ is already working on it
AvtoVAZ sees greater promise in hybrid technologies in the automotive industry than in purely electric ones, and a prototype of the first hybrid model is already being developed. Company representative Alexander Vinogradov announced this at the NTI Autonet conference on Wednesday.
According to Vinogradov, cited by the Telegram channel “Autopotok”, this prototype will be an all-wheel drive car, in which the front wheels will be driven by a conventional internal combustion engine (ICE), and the rear wheels by an electric motor.
Meanwhile, AvtoVAZ is preparing for mass production of the electric LADA e-Largus, which will be launched at its Lada Izhevsk plant this summer. It is planned to be produced in passenger and cargo-passenger versions, with different batteries and different carrying capacity.
As the AvtoVAZ press service clarified earlier, the settings of the e-Largus power unit allow it to accelerate to 145 km/h (the speed threshold is electronically limited), and it reaches the first 100 km/h in less than 10 seconds. The range on a full charge of a battery with a capacity of 44 and 61 kWh is just over 300 km and about 400 km, respectively.
As for the return of regular petrol LADA Largus to the assembly line, this will happen on May 15th. At first, they will be produced in Izhevsk only in two colors: white “Glacial” and gray “Platinum”. Later, the palette will be expanded with Panther black and Borneo dark gray metallic.
