At the opening of the Beijing Motor Show, Chery presented a hybrid version of the flagship crossover Tiggo 9 PHEV, which, among other things, differs in appearance from its progenitor. Such a car will reach Russia this year, Chinese Cars found out.

First of all, it is worth noting that the car has a modified appearance compared to the Tiggo 9, which is already presented on the Chinese market. So, it now has a completely different “mask” – headlights, a bumper, which has stylish anti-fog optics of a complex shape, and a radiator grille, available in two design options.
The feed of the crossover has also changed. The most noticeable detail was the new lighting equipment. In addition, a different bumper was installed and the shape of the trunk lid was slightly adjusted.
The crossover received a new front design
The general concept of the style, dictated by the chief designer of the brand, Saidin Osmantsevich, is based on two key concepts: Guard And Conquer. According to him, these concepts embody the essence of the “conqueror” in the exterior design and the confidence of the “guardian” in the interior, demonstrating creative innovation.

The interior of the car as a whole is quite familiar. There is a minimalistic front panel with a 15.6-inch multimedia system. In front of the driver is a virtual “tidy” and a four-spoke multifunction steering wheel with touch buttons.
Powerplant Chery Tiggo 9 PHEV
As already mentioned, the Chery Tiggo 9 PHEV crossover will receive a hybrid power plant, which is based on a 2-liter turbo engine with a capacity of 238 hp. With. and 385 Nm of torque. It is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The internal combustion engine is assisted by a 3DHT hybrid transmission, which produces another 224 hp. Fuel consumption per 100 km will be 5.2 liters, and the total range reaches 1,400 km.

Interestingly, the new hybrid Chery Tiggo 9 PHEV turned out to be more powerful than the gasoline-electric Chery Fulwin T10, which is also based on the “regular” Tiggo 9. The T10 has an engine output of 156 hp, and an electric motor output of 204 hp.
When will Chery Tiggo 9 appear in Russia?
Chery previously reported that Tiggo 9 will officially appear in Russia. However, it was unclear how it was possible to fit two identical models (the Jaecoo J8 sold in the Russian Federation is a rebranded Tiggo 9) in one market. The all-new Tiggo 9 will eventually solve this problem and internal cannibalism will be avoided.

According to company representatives, the wait for the market debut of Tiggo 9 in Russia is not long. As Chery told Chinese Cars, the new product will be presented in the fall. Approximately – in October-November. At the same time, we are talking only about a completely gasoline version, and not a hybrid version.
