In Saratov, the “Water Russia” event will be held on the Volga Island and the city embankment

On April 22, at a press conference, the organizers of one of the largest volunteer events, “Water of Russia,” spoke about plans for the year.

This year the event will be held in our country for the eleventh time. In the new season, volunteers of the “Water of Russia” campaign will be actively involved in cleaning the banks of reservoirs throughout the country.

In the Saratov region this year, the central event “Water of Russia” will be held on May 19 on the Saratov embankment, as well as on the Volga island “City Sands”. The relevant minister spoke about what activities in the field of ecology are being implemented in the Saratov region.

“In the Saratov region, over the past three years, the number of participants in the “Water of Russia” campaign has doubled, and the length of the cleaned banks has tripled. Last year, the action was supported by more than 10 thousand residents of the region, 730 events were held and about 750 km of the coastal zone of reservoirs were cleaned. It is gratifying to know that every year the number of participants in the action is increasing, and the shores are becoming cleaner. Today, each of us must become an ecologist at heart,” says Konstantin Doronin.

This year, additional emphasis is placed on the educational component: increasing environmental awareness of the population, including through competitions and eco-marathons. Thus, on the initiative of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “Center for Development of the Water Industry Complex” of the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia, the “General Collection” competition was organized and is being held as part of this campaign. Anyone who is concerned about the topic of ecology and preserving the purity of our country’s water resources can take part in it.
