A series of open free lectures with famous psychologists and scientists will be held in the capital to support graduates while preparing for the Unified State Exam (USE).

Calm and confident

Children and their parents will be able to attend events at the Moscow Palace of Pioneers, Zaryadye Park and the Winzavod Center for Contemporary Art. In addition, psychologists will give lectures for parents in every school in the capital.

“The psychological readiness of children and parents for exams, their calmness and confidence play an important role at all stages of preparation and during the period of passing the Unified State Exam. We decided to make a series of lectures for them with clear and understandable recommendations from experts. We invited speakers popular among young people who will talk about effective ways to combat anxiety and procrastination and answer questions from schoolchildren. To make psychological help as accessible as possible to everyone, we organized similar lectures for parents and in schools, where classes will be conducted by qualified specialists from the capital’s psychological and pedagogical center,” noted Anastasia Rakova, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Social Development.

How to support and not interfere

The first city lecture will take place at the Moscow Palace of Pioneers on May 14. It will be read by psychologist Irina Kovaleva.

The next meeting will take place on May 19 at the Winzavod Center for Contemporary Art. The expert will be psychologist and blogger Larisa Surkova.

On May 26, psychologist and author Mikhail Labkovsky will give a lecture in the amphitheater of Zaryadye Park.

In addition, visitors will be offered individual consultations from psychologists at the City Psychological and Pedagogical Center. They will be present at all sites.

Already now, parents of ninth and 11th grade graduates can attend the lectures “OGE/USE. At the peak of their form: how to support and not interfere” with specialists from the City Psychological and Pedagogical Center. They will be held until April 26 in every Moscow school. Experts will talk about how to maintain a positive attitude in the family and support the graduate, and will also demonstrate exercises and techniques for self-confidence.

At the end of the lectures, school psychologists and specialists from the City Psychological and Pedagogical Center will talk with parents, answer questions and, if necessary, offer to sign up for consultations. Information about the dates and times of meetings, as well as a link to register for them, will be posted on school social networks and parent class chats.

If graduates or parents feel anxiety or emotional discomfort of another kind, they can get help from a school psychologist, in the anonymous chat “myryadom.online” or by calling the hotline of the City Psychological and Pedagogical Center: + 7 800 250-11-91 (from Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 21:00). Help can also be obtained by calling the All-Russian Children’s Helpline: + 7 800 200-01-22 (24 hours a day).

Informing metropolitan students and their parents about psychological approaches to constructive communication, self-realization and leisure activities helps to strengthen family relationships, increase the child’s level of self-esteem, and also corresponds to the goals of the “Modern Education” project of the national project “Education”.
