“In the case of the categories of public sector employees designated in the May decrees of the Russian President, salaries are indexed regularly. As for unspecified categories, indexation is carried out based on the growth of average patches in the region,” Andrey Travnikov clarified.

According to the head of the region, at the end of last year, statistics showed an increase in average salaries in the region by almost 18%. The result was two indexations – in July and October. The first was almost 10%, the second – 7.5%.

“For 2024, the budget provided funds based on the official forecast for wage growth of 10.5%, but based on the results of the first quarter, we see that the pace will be higher,” the governor noted.

How many times indexation will be carried out this year will become known later. But the day before, when adopting amendments to the budget of the Novosibirsk region, deputies approved funds for these purposes. Specific decisions on salary increases are planned for the summer, added Ray Travnikov.

According to the Russian Ministry of Labor, the list of “designated” categories of public sector workers includes teachers, doctors, nurses, social workers, cultural figures and scientists. “Non-specified” include economists, lawyers, accountants, personnel officers, engineers and support workers who maintain buildings and equipment.
