Former director of the construction department of Nizhny Novgorod Dmitry Gorbunov admitted to receiving a bribe in the amount of more than 10 million rubles. Writes about this “Kommersant-Privolzhye”.
Let us recall that, according to investigators, in 2020-2022 the official received a large sum through an intermediary from a representative of a commercial organization for facilitating his victory in a competition for the construction of a kindergarten in Novaya Kuznechikha. He entered into a pre-trial agreement with the prosecutor’s office and testified against himself and other defendants.
During the court hearing on April 23, Gorbunov said that the intermediary Alexander Dikin, through his acquaintances, gave him packages of money for assistance to the Monolit company. Then the official resigned from the city administration and left for St. Petersburg. He kept half of the bribe in the amount of 5 million rubles in a box in his garage. He spent the other part of the money on buying a transformer to supply power to the evacuation camp.
Also, these funds were used to pay for rented housing for his deputy, Maria Pavlova, who came to Nizhny Novgorod with a child and did not get a service apartment. Gorbunov gave the money stored in the garage to the investigator in February 2022, when he wrote a confession.

The accused also asked to take into account his service in the Northern Military District zone, since he worked in the Kherson military-civil administration.
Gorbunov stated that he repented of what he had done and asked for forgiveness from the people of Nizhny Novgorod. He will be sentenced in a special manner, without examining the evidence.
It was previously reported that another ex-head of the Nizhny Novgorod Department of Construction, Ilya Gor, is also being tried for bribery.
