There is no need to worry about the launch of city fountains this year: they are preparing for launch as planned and will begin to delight Sevastopol residents, residents of Sevastopol and guests of our city after the regional government makes an appropriate decision. This was reported to ForPost by the Department of Municipal Affairs of Sevastopol.

A few days ago, information appeared on the government procurement website that the State Budgetary Institution “Parks and Squares”, subordinate to the city farm, was looking for 35.6 million rubles for a company willing to comprehensively service the city’s 19 fountains, from Victory Park to Kachinsky Square. They need to be prepared for the season, maintained throughout it, and then prepared for “wintering.”

Among other things, the technical documentation noted that conservation would begin on December 1, and direct work with the fountains would begin on June 1 – which alarmed the townspeople, who were accustomed to seeing working fountains as early as May 1.

Acting Deputy Governor of Sevastopol Evgeny Gorlov clarified: June 1 is the start date of routine work under this contract with the future contractor. Now the condition of the city fountains is controlled by city services; from the technical side, the fountains are already ready.

The city authorities really pay attention to the fountains. A month ago relevant departments got order of the Governor of Sevastopol Mikhail Razvozhaev to repair the largest fountain in Victory Park, which fell into unsatisfactory condition in less than five years after its opening. The work is already underway, and the results should appear by Victory Day.
