Previously, the passage was flooded, and the ceiling was sagging there. It was being repaired – not for the sake of beauty, but so that pedestrians were simply not in danger.
The overhaul of the problematic underground passage at Sokol in Belgorod will be completed before the end of this year. Now specialists are examining the structures, after which they will develop a project.
I am familiar with the situation. Last year we carried out an inspection of all underground passages. Many of them are in unsatisfactory condition. Last year Rodina and Stadium were renovated. Work on the Sokol is planned this year,

Let us remind you that former mayor Anton Ivanov promised to update Sokol, like all subways on Bogdanka. This did not happen, and the prosecutor’s office ordered the mayor’s office to develop statements of defects and estimates for the repair of five crossings: Sokol, Energomash, Viogem, on Donetskaya and at the intersection of Shchorsa and Gubkin streets.
