Three options for organizing the station are being considered.

Participants in the high-speed rail construction project are considering options for organizing conventions near Tver and Novgorod. Several options are being considered regarding the passage of the high-speed railway in the vicinity of Tver, RBC reports.

The first option involves the complete absence of exits. This will not require changes in project documentation, but will lead to a decrease in passenger traffic relative to the forecast by 1.7 million passengers per year. Currently, the forecast for high-speed rail passengers from the Tver region by 2030 is 2.07 million people.

According to the second, most expensive option, the route will pass through the city center. The governor of the Tver region, Igor Rudenya, previously stated that the possibility of running the high-speed railway through the railway station in Tver is being considered. RBC’s interlocutors clarify that this option could lead to an increase in the project’s implementation time.

The third, highest priority option involves the construction of ramps to the Tver station of the Oktyabrskaya Railway: trains running on the high-speed line will follow the new high-speed line, and regional high-speed trains in the Moscow-Tver direction will arrive at the existing station in Tver. In this case, the passenger flow included in the financial model of the HSR will be ensured, and it will also be possible to use the Moscow-Tver section of the HSR for Sapsan trains even before the launch of the entire new line.

According to experts, the travel time for a passenger from Moscow to Tver without the construction of ramps will be 77 minutes: about 40 minutes on the HSR, about 20 minutes by bus, the rest of the time for transfers. With the construction of ramps, it will be reduced to 54 minutes. According to the approved route, the HSR line should bypass Tver and Veliky Novgorod – new stations are designed at a distance of 10–20 kilometers from city centers. For Tver, the option of building a station in the Migalovo area is being considered, where there is already an existing railway line from the Tver station. The construction of the ramps was included in the financial model and the predicted passenger flow, but their construction has not yet been included in the project.

Let us remind you that an agreement has already been signed on the production of the first trains for the high-speed railway.

The Moscow-St. Petersburg high-speed highway is planned to be launched in 2028. The start of the construction of the high-speed railway in March of this year was given personally by Russian President Vladimir Putin. At the moment, experts estimate the cost of building the highway at 1.7 trillion rubles. After the launch of the HSR, the travel time between the two capitals will be 2 hours 15 minutes, and from Tver to Moscow – 39 minutes. Also, the preliminary cost of trips on the promising high-speed railway has already been approved.

During his visit to Torzhok, Vladimir Putin spoke about how the launch of the high-speed railway will change the lifestyle in the Tver region.
