Moscow. April 23. INTERFAX.RU – In the winter season 2023-2024, Russian ski resorts were visited by 8 million people, which is 15% more than a year earlier, said Ilya Vinogradov, general director of the ANO Center for the Development of the Ski Industry and Tourist Territories.

“On average, the flow of ski tourists in Russia this winter season increased by 15%. Now there are more than 360 ski resorts in Russia. The main flow of eight million tourists to mountain resorts is created by 20 large ski resorts. The share of skiers and snowboarders is 70%, the remaining 30% – day travelers,” he said.

Of the 8 million tourists, about 2 million were received by the Southern Federal District (SFD), another 1.7 million by the Siberian Federal District (SFD) and 1.5 million by the North Caucasus.

“These regions receive more than 60% of the total tourist flow to Russian ski resorts,” the expert emphasized.

Due to the development of ski tourism in the North Caucasus, the share of ski lovers is 30% of the total tourist flow to the region.
