In St. Petersburg, the head coach of football “Zenith” Sergei Semak was awarded. On Wednesday, the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly presented the mentor with the honorary badge “For a special contribution to the development of St. Petersburg” Alexander Belsky. The ceremony took place at the Mariinsky Palace, reports 78.ru correspondent.

The deputies made the decision to award the mentor at the end of December; Semak alone did not have the opportunity to visit the meeting room for a long time. Belsky wished the team victory in today’s match with Rubin.

Semak has been coaching Zenit since 2018. Since then, the team has won the Russian Championship five times in a row and is currently also leading the RPL standings. Previously, Semak played for Zenit as a player and twice became the national champion as part of the team.

Also on Wednesday, deputies supported a bill on gift sets for newborns worth 15 thousand rubles.
