On April 22, the III All-Russian boxing competition ended in the capital of Chuvashia – the championship of the Central Council of the FSO of Trade Unions “Russia” in memory of the Head of the City of Cheboksary Oleg Kortunov.

The tournament was attended by 335 athletes from 37 regions of Russia (boys/girls 13−14 years old, juniors 17−18 years old/juniors 19−22 years old).

Representatives of the Altai school of boxing were not lost among the contenders for medals. Our athletes have a number of outstanding victories, culminating in their ascension to the podium.

In the junior tournament, Biychan Anatoly Usmanov, a student of Vladimir Murachev, became the best in the 60 kg weight category, defeating Timur Karimov from Neftekamsk (Bashkiria) in the final. Another victory in this age group in the weight of 71 kg was won by Kamensk boxer Denis Rakov, a student of Igor Shagov. Our fellow countryman defeated Denis Shevtsov from Samara in the final.

Among juniors 17-18 years old, Valeria Borzova from Kamen-on-Obi, a student of Igor Shagov, won in the 54 kg weight category. Thus, Anatoly, Denis and Valeria received the right to participate in the Russian championship. At the same time, Usmanov and Rakov will perform in Krasnodar from May 11, and Borzova will go to Vladikavkaz, where the tournament for juniors starts on May 1.

Let us add that Anastasia Zaikina won the silver medal in the 66 kg weight category (Kamen-on-Obi, coach Igor Shagov).

In the age group of 13-14 years, the bronze medalists of the competition were students from the Ring Sports Complex, Kamen-on-Obi: Maxim Shkarynin for boys (weight 42 kg) and Ekaterina Elysheva for girls. Katya practices boxing in Krutikha with trainer Yaroslav Napalkov.
