A bank employee saved a 52-year-old Kurgan resident from the influence of scammers.

As it became known from the telegram channel of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Kurgan region, the man’s phone received a call from an alleged mobile operator, who reported the need to establish communication. The citizen received codes on his phone, and the man told them to his interlocutors. Then the scammers convinced the victim that the loan was illegally issued to him and asked him to expose the dishonest bank employee.

The next day the man went to the bank to apply for a real loan in the amount of 300 thousand rubles. The bank agreed to give him only 120 thousand rubles , however, the head of the bank office found suspicious correspondence on the client’s phone and realized that he had become a victim of fraudsters, she reported this to the police. An investigator from Police Department No. 2 of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Kurgan opened a criminal case for attempted fraud.

Deputy Head of the Department for Work with Personnel of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the city of Kurgan, Police Major Vitaly Weiss thanked the bank representative for his vigilance and active citizenship, which helped save funds from criminal attacks.

Law enforcement officers urge residents of the Urals not to communicate on the phone with strangers on topics related to finance. Do not disclose confidential information, codes and passwords from SMS messages to unauthorized persons, and do not perform any manipulations with bank accounts.
