Chelyabinsk fraudster stole 11 million under the pretext of selling household appliances at a discount

A fraudster from Chelyabinsk forced buyers to transfer money to him and disappeared.

In Chelyabinsk, a man was sentenced for fraudulently receiving 11 million rubles from various citizens.

According to the press service of the regional prosecutor’s office, in 2019-2021, a Chelyabinsk resident, under the pretext of selling household and office equipment at discounted prices, stole money from buyers. He offered to buy goods at a discount using accumulated bonuses in a household appliance store from previous purchases.

On the website of a household appliance store, people selected a product and transferred money to the man. In total, he deceived 69 people, the total amount of stolen funds was more than 11 million rubles.

By court decision, the fraudster received five years in a general regime colony.
