The Minister of Construction and Housing and Communal Services of Russia Irek Fayzullin and the Governor of the Orenburg region Denis Pasler inspected the flood zones in Orenburg.

Let us recall that last week Irek Fayzullin arrived in the Orenburg region on the personal instructions of the President of Russia. The key purpose of the working visit is to assess the situation on site, organize further work and coordinate restoration activities.

“We are here to assess the situation and the extent of the damage and plan further actions so as to restore all objects.” Of course, the first priority will be the restoration of housing and life-supporting infrastructure. The federal center and the region will make every effort to recreate a comfortable environment,” said Minister of Construction and Housing and Communal Services of Russia Irek Faizullin .

The minister and the head of the region worked together in Orsk. Then in Orenburg, Irek Faizullin and Denis Pasler inspected buildings and structures, including residential buildings, social facilities, and public spaces in the flood zone. The first point of the route was the Ural embankment and the territory of the skate park, the structures of which were carried away by the current. In addition, Irek Fayzullin visited the Grand Park residential area. To protect it from water, preventive measures were taken and fences were installed.

– Over the last 24 hours, the situation has stabilized: there is a steady decline in the Urals in Orsk, the decrease was 14 cm. Of course, we understood that the wave would reach Orenburg, the increase was a meter over the last 24 hours. The gauging station, which is located upstream, in front of Orenburg, says that tomorrow there should be stabilization, the rise in water level is expected to stop,” noted Governor of the Orenburg region Denis Pasler .

In Orenburg and the region, all resources are being used to assess the situation and overcome its consequences.

On the same day, a meeting on liquidation of flood consequences was held via video conference. It was conducted by the head of state Vladimir Putin. Federal ministers took part in it – the heads of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Alexander Kurenkov, the Ministry of Construction Irek Faizullin and the Ministry of Finance Anton Siluanov, as well as the governors of the Orenburg, Kurgan and Tyumen regions.

– We are in touch almost every day, but nevertheless the situation changes hourly. Therefore, I would ask the governors to report first of all: how do you assess the situation at the moment? – the president asked and the first of the regional heads gave the floor to Denis Pasler.

The governor reported on the operational situation regarding the flood in the region, the implementation of the president’s instructions, measures taken to overcome the flood and eliminate its consequences. Overall, the flood in the region has reached its peak. The most difficult situation is in Orenburg, where the water level in the Urals has reached a historical record. The water keeps coming. In Orsk the situation has stabilized. The water level has dropped by another 14 centimeters today. Data on the inflow into the Iriklinskoye reservoir is updated hourly, on the basis of which a decision is made on regulating the discharge.

According to the first preliminary estimates, the amount of damage from the disaster in the Orenburg region exceeds 40 billion rubles. All network organizations, resource specialists, and utility companies are already going to sites to carry out restoration work in areas freed from water.

Also last week, the plenipotentiary representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Volga Federal District Igor Komarov, the head of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations Alexander Kurenkov, as well as representatives of federal ministries and departments worked in the region. They inspected infrastructure damaged by the flood and visited temporary accommodation centers.
