The fee range will vary from 25.43 to 40.27 rubles per 1 sq. m. m per month.

From June 1, 2024, in Nizhny Novgorod the fee for the use of residential premises (rental fee) in the municipal fund will change, the city department of economic development reported.

“After the changes come into force, the range of fees for renting residential premises, depending on its quality (wall material, service life, layout of the residential premises), type of improvement and location of the apartment building, will vary from 25.43 to 40.27 rubles per 1 sq. m per month, previously residents paid 21.43 and 33.93 rubles, respectively,” explained the department of economic development.

Housing provided to residents is owned by the municipality, which enters into a social rental agreement with the citizen. After moving in, the tenant pays a monthly fee for the use of the premises and pays for utilities. The social rental agreement is concluded for an indefinite period. Everyone who lives in an apartment under a social tenancy agreement has the right to become homeowners. In this case, the owners will pay property tax rather than pay for renting the premises.
