Volgograd Victory Volunteers distributed 5 thousand St. George ribbons

The “St. George Ribbon” campaign has started in the Volgograd region.

An all-Russian action was launched on Mamayev Kurgan in Volgograd. Today alone, Victory volunteers will distribute more than 5 thousand symbols of military glory to residents and guests of the region, and by May 9 – 100 thousand.

As regional officials told Gorodskiye Vesti, 80 students, youth members, cadets and activists of the “Volunteers of Victory” movement carried an 80-meter St. George ribbon from the foot of Mamayev Kurgan to the Hall of Military Glory. They honored the memory of those killed in the war, laid flowers at the Eternal Flame and distributed the St. George ribbon to the guests of the city, explaining the meaning of its flowers.

Let us remember that the first time the action was held in 2005 in honor of the 60th anniversary of the Victory. And then it was held annually. This year the event will take place in Kamyshinsky, Elansky, Svetloyarsky, Kalachevsky, Pallasovsky, Gorodishchensky districts, in Mikhailovka, Kamyshin and Volgograd. You can receive the symbol of military glory until May 9.
