In particular, this was achieved thanks to the regional family capital program, SMI learned44.

As Deputy Governor Elena Zhurina reported at a daily operational meeting with the head of the region, since the beginning of the implementation of the law in 2009, 2,189 families have received such a payment. They transferred more than half a billion rubles.

Regional family capital is a payment that is provided at the birth of a third and subsequent child to improve living conditions. Now the benefit amount is 200 thousand rubles. In July 2022, at the initiative of Sergei Sitnikov, changes were made to the law, thanks to which large families can now receive funds again at the birth of the fourth and each subsequent child, even if the family has already improved its living conditions, but continues to pay the mortgage.

Every year there are more and more large families in the Kostroma region. Today, about 8 thousand families live in the region with three or more children. The birth rate for children who are third in the family increased by almost 8% in 2023. Fourth births also increased – by almost 18%; the increase in births of fifth and subsequent children was more than 2%.
