In March, the number of trips on weekdays on the third and fourth routes of the Moscow Central Diameters (MCD-3 and MCD-4) increased by 25 and 30%, respectively. This was reported by the press service of the Department of Transport and Development of Road Transport Infrastructure in Moscow.

“The number of trips per working day in March on MCD-3 increased by 25%, and on MCD-4 by almost 30% compared to the same month last year, when these railway directions were not yet included in the MCD,” – the material says.

At the same time, the number of trips on diameters within Moscow since the launch has increased by 52% on MCD-3 and by 61% on MCD-4.

“Under the leadership of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin, the MCD system almost doubled in 2023 – by 171 kilometers. Modern urban railway transport has become more accessible not only for Muscovites, but also for residents of Ramenskoye, Zhukovsky, Khimki, Aprelevka, Zheleznodorozhny. They can build new convenient routes and make comfortable trips. Increasingly, passengers of commuter trains use the diameters as a subway – to travel around the city, which helps reduce the load on the subway,” said the capital’s deputy mayor for transport, Maxim Liksutov.
