A classic in a modern interpretation or a performance that is close to teenagers. Actors of the “Veryu” theater, which operates at the “Dostoyanie” center, presented their view of “The Tale of Tsar Saltan” at the All-Russian theater festival in Pyatigorsk. The jury appreciated the bold approach.
“Three girls under the window…” – everyone has known these lines from Pushkin’s fairy tale since childhood. Although most often the imagination draws completely different pictures when reading a fairy tale than those presented by young Kaluga actors on stage. But this production is a manifesto performance. In a language understandable to their peers, youth theater actors “I believe“they declare: Russian classics have a place in the modern world.
Kaluga residents talk about the importance of Russian culture not only in their theater. This performance was presented at the interregional theater festival, which took place in Pyatigorsk. This was the first time for young actors to participate in a professional competition of this level.
The Kaluga residents coped with dignity. The result was a second degree laureate diploma. The head of the theater studio is proud of his students. And he believes that the very fact of participating in the festival was a good opportunity for them to gain experience.

Because almost all 140 participants who were announced at the full-time stage had the title of an exemplary theater, a folk theater. The modern interpretation of the classics is not the only direction that is pursued in the theater. Young actors study different styles and genres.
