A resident of St. Petersburg, who left the corpse of her partner on the balcony for a month, was taken into custody – April 24, 2024

The Krasnogvardeisky District Court of St. Petersburg chose a preventive measure for 45-year-old Olga Vorobyeva, accused of murdering her partner. His corpse lay on the balcony of a room in a communal apartment on Nastavnikov Avenue for more than a month.

As Fontanka was informed by the joint press service of the St. Petersburg courts on Wednesday, April 24, the woman was remanded in custody for two months, until June 21. She was charged and admitted guilt.

In addition, as Fontanka learned, the accused told investigators her version of the events of the fateful day. According to our data, on the afternoon of March 17, Olga and Dmitry were drinking at home. Around five in the evening the woman went to bed, but her partner woke her up, which provoked a conflict – the lady became very angry. They swore loudly, on that very balcony. During the quarrel, according to Olga, Dmitry hit her in the face and, hearing rudeness in response, pushed her so that the woman fell.

Then, according to the accused, the man stayed smoking on the balcony, and she went into the room, took a knife, returned and stabbed her roommate in the chest. He immediately fell. After that, Olga sat, drank, probably calmed down and returned to the balcony. The man was already dead.

According to the accused, when she realized what she had done, she called her friend, who rushed to her with wine. The next day, Olga, apparently finally realizing what she had done, went out onto the balcony and threw her jacket and blanket over her body. According to the woman, she wiped the knife and left it. After that, Olga took her things and her cat and went to another friend. She locked the room.

The man’s body was discovered by the landlord only on the afternoon of April 21 and he called the deceased’s daughter, Ksenia. The girl had been looking for her father for several weeks, including calling his partner, but, according to the accused, she got scared and blocked the daughter of her late lover.

According to Fontanka, Olga herself is from Tikhvin. She has an adult daughter, but they hardly communicate. Olga met the late Dmitry in the fall of 2022 through social networks. Before the New Year, the couple moved in together.

As the accused says, at first the relationship suited her, but from the beginning of this year, her partner began to go on binges, miss work, or come in in a bad mood – according to Fontanka, Dmitry worked as a security guard in Yanino. In addition, according to Olga, her roommate always suspected her of cheating. The man hit her once, but Olga forgave him.

Now a criminal case has been opened against the woman for murder (Part 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). She faces six to fifteen years in prison.
