In Novocherkassk, the Victory Day parade was canceled. Also in the Don capital, on May 9, they decided not to organize fireworks.

News of the Rostov region

The governor of the Rostov region, Vasily Golubev, announced this in his telegram channel and warned the heads of municipalities about the need to take additional security measures during the holidays.

As for the parade, there will not be one in Novocherkassk. Regarding the parade in Rostov, we are interacting with the Russian Ministry of Defense. The likelihood that this parade will be held without spectators is high. On May 9, if there are fireworks, then this is the decision of the Russian Ministry of Defense. And we traditionally organized fireworks in Rostov. There will be no fireworks this year,” the governor wrote.

The in-person march of the Immortal Regiment will not take place in 2024. It will be replaced by patriotic events, which will be held in different formats.

Let us recall that yesterday, April 23, co-chairman of the Central Headquarters of the Immortal Regiment of Russia, deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, Elena Tsunaeva, spoke about the cancellation of the march of the Immortal Regiment through the streets of Russian cities. This decision was made “in connection with existing threats to public safety.”
