More than 800 young researchers met at a scientific forum at Vologda State University

The grand opening of the XXVI Youth Scientific Forum “Young Researchers for the Regions” took place at VoSU. This year, more than 800 young researchers from 70 universities, colleges and schools in Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and China are participating in it.

“The forum has become an authoritative platform for discussing current issues of socio-economic development of the region. Today we rely on youth. It is important for us that there are more young researchers. For this purpose, numerous measures to support young scientists are being implemented in the Vologda region – these are competitions, grants, subsidies,” – said Deputy Head of the Department of Economic Development of the Vologda Region Yulia Ukhanova.

“I am glad to welcome you here with new ideas and research. I hope that this forum will become a platform for discussing your projects, which in the future will serve as a driver of growth for our region,” – noted Natalya Ezhova, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Innovation Activities of Voronezh State University.

At the plenary session, awards were presented to young scientists of Vologda State University. Sergei and Anastasia Solovyov were awarded the State Youth Prize of the Vologda Region in Science and Technology.

The gold medal of the international salon of inventions and innovative technologies “Archimedes 2024” was awarded to student of the Department of Heat and Gas Supply Nikita Popov for the project “Thermoelectric Generator Based on the Seebeck Effect”, as well as Associate Professor of the Department of Automation and Computer Science Dmitry Kochkin, Associate Professor of the Department of Physics Svetlana Korneychuk and graduate student Ivan Pritychenko for the project “A set of programs for studying and visualizing algorithms.”

The bronze medal of the international salon of inventions and innovative technologies “Archimedes 2024” was awarded to associate professors of the Department of Heat and Gas Supply Mikhail Pokrovsky and Anton Sinitsyn.

Until April 26, within the framework of the “Young Researchers for the Regions” forum, meetings with representatives of enterprises on the development of engineering education, exhibitions of achievements and innovative developments of young scientists, lectures and master classes on technical and humanities, and round tables will be held.
