The Novgorod hockey team “SKA-Iceberg” took 2nd place in the North-West championship

17-year-old hockey players of the SKA-Iceberg club from Veliky Novgorod lost to the Kaliningrad Baltic Beavers in the final of the Northwestern Federal District championship. The Novgorodians won the first match of the series in overtime 4:3, and lost the second 0:1. In the third match in Kaliningrad, the final score was 2:4.

“Unfortunately, unforced errors in the second period and the injury of our player did not give us a chance to catch on in this meeting,” the club commented. — Yesterday Kaliningrad was stronger, but we congratulate our guys on silver medals! They fought until the last seconds. Throughout the championship, our players showed interesting and attacking hockey, and managed to demonstrate a decent result. Of course, silver medals at the Northwestern Federal District Junior Hockey League Championship born in 2006 are an important achievement for all of us! We are proud of our team!”

Let us add that at the previous stage of the playoffs, the Novgorodians beat the SKA-Karelia team from Kondopoga 3:1 and 3:2.

By the way, another age of this club – the team born in 2013 became the winner of the Leningrad Region Championship for the second year in a row.
