A Ryazan resident stored hemp in a barn

Police seized more than 800 g of marijuana and more than 4 kg of narcotic plants from a barn in the village of Aleksandrovo, Ryazan region, the press service of the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs reports.

Investigators received information that a 42-year-old Ryazan resident may be storing herbal drugs on his estate. During the inspection of the house and outbuildings belonging to it, plastic buckets and bags with fragments of plants and bags with dried parts of plants were found. The examination established that 832 g of the plant drug marijuana and 4 kg 339 g of fragments of drug-containing hemp plants were stored in the barn. The drugs were seized. The attacker was detained.

According to preliminary information, last year the man illegally grew drug-containing plants on his plot and prepared marijuana from part of the crop, which he used. The attacker hid the rest.

A criminal case was opened against the attacker under Part 2 of Art. 228 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, which provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of up to 10 years.
