Volgograd schoolchildren and parents expressed their opinions on new school menu items

--

A tasting of new school menu items was held at Lyceum No. 11 of the Voroshilovsky district of Volgograd. The organizers were the food operator Vivo Market LLC and the Association of Social Nutrition and Health Professionals.

— Tasting new products has become another important step for our company. It allowed us to get feedback from students and parents and understand what dishes they liked. This will help make our menu even more diverse and popular, as well as increase customer satisfaction, — commented the head of the marketing department of Vivo Market LLC Yaroslav Bogdanov.

Several dozen schoolchildren and parents from different parts of the city took part in tasting new dishes for the school canteen. The event participants were presented with more than 20 types of hot dishes and drinks: from merchant-style buckwheat and country-style roast to dumplings, pancakes and potato zrazas.

— Modern catering offers a wide range of different dishes, and food operators need to follow trends in order to attract children’s attention to healthy school food, – said Tatyana Belyaeva, representative of the PSPiON Association. — It is important to develop more dishes that meet the modern needs of children and adolescents. At the same time, it is necessary to comply with all rules and regulations to ensure high quality and safety of products. This will make school meals more attractive and varied, which in turn will contribute to the formation of healthy eating habits in children.

The purpose of the tasting was not only to present new dishes, but also to find out the participants’ opinions about them. Each of them received a special tasting sheet. In it, Volgograd residents rated the appearance, smell and taste of the dish on a 5-point scale. In a separate column, they could present their comments in more detail. This allowed the company to gain valuable information about what consumers like and dislike, and what tastes and preferences they have.

— Today we tried a lot of dishes, they were varied and tasty. I liked everything, I was especially pleased with the pancakes, my children love them very much. And the dumplings are very tasty, I’m sure the children will eat them with pleasure, — Ekaterina Sharina, a mother of two students from school No. 101, shared her impressions.

Schoolchildren and parents enjoyed trying new dishes and sharing their impressions. They noted that the new products were tasty, varied and interesting. They especially liked the pancakes and dumplings, as well as potato zrazy with meat.

— Everything was delicious. Most of all I liked the pancakes with condensed milk and zrazy with meat. As for drinks, I really liked hibiscus tea and wild berries, – said Demid Pavlov, a student at secondary school No. 43 in the Dzerzhinsky district of Volgograd. — I hope we will see these new products in our school soon.”

The meeting was attended by experts in the field of social nutrition. Among them was Tatyana Koyich, leading process engineer at Vivo Market LLC. She has extensive experience and is responsible for developing and improving the company’s dishes.

Any parent or student could ask questions about school nutrition and receive a qualified answer from an expert. The tasting participants liked this format of open communication. Parents were able to find out what their children are fed at school, understand what restrictions and features there are in school meals, and also get answers to their questions.

The tasting was successful, schoolchildren and parents were satisfied. They expressed hope that the new dishes will be included in the menu and become permanent.

Let us remind you that during this academic year more than 10 tastings were held in different areas of the city. This shows that Vivo is actively working to improve its product range and strive to satisfy the needs of its customers.
