Over the course of three years, residents of 28 old houses in Izmailov moved to new houses under the renovation program. This was announced by the Minister of the Moscow Government, head of the capital’s Department of City Property Maxim Gaman.

“The renovation program began in Izmailovo in May 2021. Then the city offered 479 residents from four houses apartments in a new building. In just almost three years, more than 4.6 thousand people from 28 old five-story buildings received comfortable housing. Muscovites moved to three new buildings,” explained Maxim Gaman.

The first to begin relocation were the residents of building 14, buildings 2 and 3 on 3rd Pryadilnaya Street, building 3, building 2 on 2nd Pryadilnaya Street and building 5 on Nikitinskaya Street. Now one of the five-story buildings has been demolished, the rest have been completely resettled. In total, 8.5 thousand Muscovites are planned to be resettled in Izmailovo under the renovation program.

Earlier, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin reported that in the east of the capital, about 18.6 thousand citizens received new housing, more than two thousand of them since the beginning of the year. The head of the Moscow Department of Urban Development Policy, Sergei Levkin, added that 107 starting sites have been selected for the construction of new houses under the renovation program in the Eastern Administrative District.

“In the Izmailovo area, 12 residential properties are currently under design and construction under the renovation program,” added Sergei Lyovkin.

The renovation program was approved in August 2017. It concerns about a million Muscovites and provides for the resettlement of 5,176 houses. In 2023 alone, 59 new buildings were handed over for occupancy in the capital and more than 47 thousand people were provided with relocation. Earlier, Sergei Sobyanin instructed to double the pace of program implementation.
