Large enterprises in the Orenburg region did not stop working during the flood, said Vice-Governor for Economics and Investment Ignat Petukhov.

He emphasized that large enterprises – where 300, 500 people work – did not suspend production.

“This didn’t happen,” Petukhov emphasized on the air of the Orenburg State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company.

He also denied information that the strategically important Mechanical Plant had stopped operating in Orsk.

— The mechanical plant in Orsk did not stop work, it is working. Orsnefteorgsintez suspended operations and switched to scheduled preventive maintenance during the flood. Usually it is done in the summer, but now it was carried out in April, taking into account the flood,” added Ignat Petukhov.

As Orenburg Media wrote earlier, due to the abnormal flood, in order to avoid environmental risks and to comply with safety regulations, the production capacity of the Orsk plant was suspended from April 7. The shipment of petroleum products from the Orsk Refinery in the Orenburg Region continued despite the flood, the press service of Orsknefteorgsintez PJSC reported.
