The Nizhny Novgorod company increased the production of building materials by 11% in April 2024

Production at PO Metallist LLC, a Nizhny Novgorod company that produces a wide range of products for roofing, facade and other types of construction work, increased by 11% thanks to the Labor Productivity national project. The results of the implementation of lean technologies were summed up in production. This was reported by the press service of the government of the Nizhny Novgorod region.

Experts from the Regional Competence Center (RCC), together with employees of the Metallist Production Association LLC in Nizhny Novgorod, summed up the results of implementing the tools of the Labor Productivity national project. As a pilot flow, RCC specialists chose to optimize the production process of metal tiles and additional elements.

As the Minister of Industry, Trade and Entrepreneurship of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Maxim Cherkasov said, lean manufacturing tools used within the framework of the national project allow companies to increase production capacity without the need to expand staff and large financial investments. The enterprise’s request to reduce production costs and increase the competitiveness of the product was successfully implemented thanks to production optimization. RCC experts proposed a number of solutions that made it possible to increase output by 11% and speed up work by 15%.

Cherkasov noted that joint work with the project working group made it possible to identify 21 “bottlenecks” in production. Thanks to the proposed measures, such as increasing the throughput of workplaces and optimizing product packaging time, it was possible to significantly improve production performance.

The experts also conducted training in lean technologies for 19 employees of the company and trained two internal trainers, which will ensure the company’s further development in this direction.

The national project “Labor Productivity” is aimed at increasing the efficiency of enterprises and increasing the competitiveness of Russian companies. The Regional Competence Center (RCC) is the operator of the project, providing targeted support to enterprises and training employees in lean manufacturing methods.
