On behalf of the governor in Orenburg and suburban villages, power supply to private houses that did not have water is being restored | 04/25/2024 | Orenburg News

--

The Orenburg production department of the branch of Rosseti Volga PJSC – Orenburgenergo resumed the supply of electricity to 894 houses in Orenburg, Aviagorodok, the villages of South Ural, Vesenniy, named after Kuibyshev, Pristantsionny.

Electricity supply to residential buildings was suspended for safety reasons at the peak of the flood at the request of the village administrations. After the facilities were freed from water, power engineers carried out maintenance on transformer points and turned on voltage.

The houses in which the power supply was restored were not flooded, the water only entered the adjacent areas, which was confirmed during an inspection by a commission consisting of representatives of the administration and the electrical network organization.

In flooded private households, voltage will be supplied to a temporarily installed distribution cabinet on the facade of the house. Energy experts warn that applying voltage to damaged or undried indoor wiring is dangerous to life and health, and can also lead to a short circuit, damage to household electrical appliances, and even a fire.

To avoid accidents after water recedes in a private home, you must:
– dry the internal wiring, sockets, switches, junction boxes, electrical appliances;
– make sure that electrical cables do not come into contact with water;
– invite a specialist to inspect and check the condition of the internal wiring using instruments;
– you can turn on circuit breakers in house panels only after a positive conclusion from a specialist.
