On May 9, Samara will host a traditional parade and fireworks in honor of Victory Day, Governor Dmitry Azarov said live.
The parade will begin at 10:00 on Kuibyshev Square. More than 20 parade units and about 30 units of military equipment will take part in it. The ceremonial passage will be opened by the legendary T-34 tank. Also, historical semi-trucks, ZISs, and Willys will pass through the square. The equipment will be operated by representatives of military-patriotic clubs of the Samara region, who restored the rarities with their own hands.
On Victory Day, volleys of festive fireworks will be fired on the Samara embankment.
On the eve of May 9, the regional capital will also host the “Garden of Memory” event. And on April 26, the Samara region will join the international historical project “Victory Dictation”.
Instead of the “Immortal Regiment” procession, which was decided not to be held in the traditional format this year due to security risks, it is planned to organize a car rally in the city with portraits of heroes of the Great Patriotic War.
Let us remind you that the international anti-fascist forum “Guitars in Form!” will be held in Samara from May 2 to 5. . The program includes concerts in municipalities, military hospitals and sanatoriums. Artists from the Samara region and Russian regions, as well as from China, Italy, Iran, Montenegro, Colombia and the UK will take part in them.
In addition, from May 7 to 9, the exhibition “Without a Statute of Limitations” will be open on Glory Square. Archival documents will be presented here – evidence of Nazi crimes against civilians during the Great Patriotic War. They were published by activists of the Samara search party.
