The Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture has issued urban planning plans for two sites on Bolsheokhtinsky Avenue, where it is planned to build housing for judges of the Supreme Court. Information about this was published on the KGA website.
The future construction site is near the Okhtinskaya Hotel (Bolsheokhtinsky Prospekt, plots 90 and 100). The first one has an area 6.5 thousand sq. m, intended use is road transport. Area of the second – 10.1 thousand sq. mthe intended use is residential development.
According to the General Plan, both sites are located in the zone of multi-storey residential construction Zh4, according to the rules of land use and development – in a zone that, according to the main types of permitted use, is suitable for both mid-rise and high-rise housing, subject to compliance with certain urban planning regulations.
Both city plans have been issued for construction. Obtaining this document is one of the first stages of project implementation.
In the summer of 2023, mandatory archaeological excavations began in these areas, since the territory partially falls within the boundaries of the cultural heritage site “Central part of the city of Niena (Okhta 2): cultural layer.”
The construction of both the residential complex for judges and the Judicial Quarter on Dobrolyubov Avenue is being carried out by the presidential administration. Vladimir Putin proposed moving the Supreme Court from Moscow to St. Petersburg back in 2012.
