In the Tula region, over the past 24 hours, scammers stole money from seven residents aged 23 to 90 years. According to data provided by the regional Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, the total amount of damage amounted to 2,126,000 rubles.

Three residents of the region fell into the trap of one of the most common schemes of swindlers: strangers, posing over the phone as employees of banks or law enforcement agencies, convinced Tula residents of the need to transfer funds to the supposedly “safe” accounts they specified.

In addition, a pensioner from Tula fell for a “contact” fraud: she was convinced that the woman’s niece was the culprit of the accident, after which she was asked to pay to “settle” the problem.

In addition, residents of the region lost their savings by trusting “sellers” on various advertisement sites, believing in the possibility of earning extra money on the Internet, and transferring money at the request of “friends” in instant messengers.

Currently, police officers are taking measures to identify the fraudsters and detain them.

We previously told you that in Tula they check the Criminal Code after the tree fell to a children’s boarding school on Sofia Perovskaya Street.
