The Prosecutor General’s Office returns the assets of the Makfa holding to the state
The Central District Court of Chelyabinsk allowed enterprises belonging to the Makfa holding, owned by the family of ex-regional governor Mikhail Yurevich, to pay bills from suppliers. The decision was made even despite interim measures against the holding.
“The court, despite the security seizure of assets, allowed Makfe” to conduct settlements with suppliers to ensure current activities,” reports the TASS agency, citing a source in the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation. Makfa does not comment on court decisions.
The consideration of the case on the nationalization of Makfa began at the end of March this year. The lawsuit from the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation states that the holding’s shares should be transferred to the state. The reason for this was criminal corruption cases against the founders of the holding, Yurevich and ex-State Duma deputy Vadim Belousov.
Currently, the holding’s enterprises are under arrest. Also arrested were the accounts and property of the company’s beneficiaries, their partners and family members.
