On April 24, at the state awards ceremony, the head of Karelia, Artur Parfenchikov, noted in his opening speech: “These are difficult times. This is a time not only of testing, but also of an opportunity to rethink many things and move forward.”

“Now in this room are the people thanks to whom we Karelia is developing in all spheres of life. Thanks to these people we have a future. Thank you for this!” added the head of the region.

The medal of the Order of Parental Glory was awarded to Anatoly and Natalya Vyakhirev, parents raising six children, for their great services in strengthening the institution of family and raising children. The same award was given to Valery and Elena Minin, parents of five children, and Oleg and Anastasia Kharkin, who are raising four children. The families were also presented with certificates for a trip to Moscow to the international exhibition “Russia” at VDNKh.

We were able to communicate with the Minin family. The couple recently celebrated their pearl wedding – 30 years of marriage. Elena admitted that since childhood she dreamed of a big family and told how to maintain family happiness: “The most important thing in a family is love, mutual understanding and respect. Our daughters already live separately, but we still see each other almost every day, maintaining the unity of our family. Our rule is one for all, and all for one.”

Valery is still surprised how his wife gets so much energy for motherhood and work. Elena is a kindergarten teacher. The secret is that a woman loves children very much, and they do not take energy from her, but, on the contrary, give her.

When asked how to raise a good person from a child, parents confidently answered: “There is no secret. You just need to love, pay attention, care. And he will follow the example of his elders, just as we once took the example of our parents.”

Arthur Parfenchikov: “On such a day, we need to remember our parents, grandparents, teachers, coaches, who poured their souls into making sure that we achieved something in this life. Every award belongs to them too,” noted Arthur Parfenchikov. The Head of Karelia also congratulated all those present on the upcoming holidays – May 1, Victory Day and Palm Sunday.
