The demand in Moscow and St. Petersburg for IT specialists from the Ivanovo region has increased on average by 1.6 times since 2022, showed the results of a study of the labor market in the IT sector by hh.ru and the Flowwow marketplace.

“In the first quarter of 2024, Ivanovo IT specialists were called for interviews for vacancies in Moscow 1.7 times more often than in the first quarter of 2022. The capital’s need for regional personnel has been growing on average by 7.3% from quarter to quarter since 2022.” , – the press service reports.

Employers from St. Petersburg are also showing interest in IT personnel from the regions. There, in the first quarter of 2024, Ivanovo IT specialists were called for open vacancies 1.6 times more often than in the first quarter of 2022. On average, the demand for IT specialists from the Ivanovo region in St. Petersburg has been growing by 7.9% quarterly over the past two years.

“A steady trend for metropolitan companies to search for employees in the regions appeared back in 2020 against the backdrop of the massive spread of remote work, and this applied to almost all “office” professions. Four years later, we again see an increase in interest in attracting IT talent from the regions. This is associated with a general recovery in demand for IT specialists and the accelerated development of IT projects for import substitution,” comments Maria Ignatova, head of marketing research at hh.ru.
