Interim results of the fight against violating fishermen were summed up in Astrakhan

Deputy Head of the Volga-Caspian Territorial Administration of the Federal Fisheries Agency Pavel Golovkin reported to the Governor of the Astrakhan Region Igor Babushkin about the interdepartmental results of the work of the interdepartmental commission during the tourist season for the period from April 1 to April 22. He noted that in total, 144 joint raids had been carried out in the region since the beginning of April and 670 offenses had been identified.

Pavel Golovkin reported that almost two thousand nets, gear, crayfish traps and other prohibited fishing gear were seized, as well as more than five thousand aquatic biological resources, including sturgeon (12 kg) and caviar (8.5 kg).

“As a result of interdepartmental cooperation, control departments imposed administrative fines on fishermen in the amount of more than 445 thousand rubles,” – said Pavel Golovkin.

According to the Minister of Transport and Road Infrastructure of the Astrakhan Region, Alexey Chepyakov, an additional second line was organized at the Mayachnoye and Main Bank ferry crossings in the Ikryaninsky district. About five thousand amateur fishermen have already arrived in the Moscow Region since April 20 alone. In addition, additional containers were installed in crowded areas of tourists. From today, garbage will be collected daily.

“We have organized systematic supervision over fishing. Intensive water release will continue until April 27. Then it will begin to decline. The fields are full. Now is the time for poaching activities. Please control this”– Governor Igor Babushkin instructed representatives of fisheries protection.
