An open lesson “Methods of authentication in social networks” of the “Digital Educational Education” project was held at the Polyanskaya school in the Kursk district. Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Communications of the Kursk Region Elena Emelyanova came to the schoolchildren for a lesson.

During the cyber literacy lesson, students were told about the types of cyber fraud. Brute force is a method of guessing passwords. A six-digit or letter code can be cracked instantly by an experienced hacker. A password of at least 10 characters and containing numbers, uppercase and lowercase letters is considered strong. But the safest way to log into your account, as the guys learned from the video from VK, is passwordless.

To consolidate their knowledge, high school students took a digital quiz and finally received certificates for participating in the “Digital Educational Education” project.

“Today in the lesson the guys got acquainted with the concepts of “cyber fraud”, “phishing”, “deepfake”, learned how to protect their profile on the Internet, and learned how to create a strong password; remembered the basic security rules – do not publish your personal data on open resources, and use only unique and complex passwords and two-factor authentication to protect your accounts; and, of course, treat calls from unfamiliar numbers with caution,” said Elena Emelyanova.
