Two digital mammographs were installed at Samara Clinic No. 1

Two digital mammographs – a stationary device and a mobile medical complex – were installed in the clinic thanks to the national Healthcare project. Residents of the Industrial and Sovetsky districts of Samara undergo diagnostic tests there.

This year, specialists have already completed over 1,800 studies using a device installed in the department on Poplar Street.

“After 40 years, women need to undergo mammography every two years,” noted Ekaterina Boryakova, head of the X-ray diagnostic department of Samara City Clinic No. 1. – New equipment makes it possible to effectively detect pathologies in the early stages. Based on the results of studies using this device, 131 people were sent for additional examination, 15 were diagnosed with breast cancer. More than 90 women were diagnosed with benign neoplasms.”

More than 3 thousand patients were diagnosed using a mobile mammograph.

“245 people were sent for additional examination, 28 were diagnosed with breast cancer. More than 140 women have benign neoplasms. Within one working day, the results are entered into the database and into the patient’s electronic record,” said the doctor.

This year, the clinic expects to receive a new digital X-ray machine.

Modernization of primary healthcare is one of the directions of the national project “Healthcare”, which is being implemented by decision of Russian President Vladimir Putin. In the region, with the support of the Governor of the Samara Region, Dmitry Azarov, active work is underway to strengthen the healthcare system, including improving the conditions for providing medical care. In total, this year it is planned to supply 700 units of medical equipment to primary healthcare institutions in the region.
