This year, 26 new single-section trams will be purchased for Yaroslavl. The state corporation allocated 1.04 billion rubles for these purposes. Delivery of the cars is planned before the end of the year.

The region received federal support as part of the modernization of electric transport in Yaroslavl. The region was one of 10 subjects of the Russian Federation that became participants in the specialized program. A concession agreement will make it possible to completely renew the tram infrastructure. Such documents are a key tool of the program and have already been concluded in a number of cities, in particular in Kursk, Lipetsk, Perm and others.

The construction of tram tracks has already begun in the Dzerzhinsky district of Yaroslavl. The work is taking place in the area from Leningradsky Prospekt to the turning circle on Blucher Street. The installation of the rails has begun. Construction of 5.5 kilometers of tracks is scheduled to be completed in 2024.

In total, over two years, under the terms of the concession, 45.3 kilometers of tram tracks, new traction substations and depots will be built in the regional center, and 47 modern single-section low-floor trams will be purchased.
