A round table on the topic: “Green construction” as part of the international forum “Ecology: city, economy, people” took place the day before as part of the International Environmental Forum, which is taking place in Vologda.

The participants of the meeting were representatives of construction and design organizations of the city of Vologda, teachers and students of the Vologda Construction College. During the event, developers of the city of Vologda spoke about techniques in design and construction that increase the environmental friendliness and energy efficiency of the objects being created.

At the round table, participants discussed the possibility of using recycled materials. In addition, the vector of further work was determined in order to create a comfortable environment in the city.

Thus, modern material for wooden house construction is produced by Sokol SLT LLC (Segezha Group, MOEX: SGZH). CLT panels are made from softwood boards.

“Let’s break down CLT into its components. The recipe for CLT boards: dry lumber plus glue, plus modern equipment and professionalism of workers. No compounds are used that may be harmful or dangerous. The adhesive for gluing is polyurethane with zero emission of harmful substances, which is confirmed by the environmental passport. This glue does not contain formaldehyde. The thickness of the adhesive layer is 0.12 mm,” – said Segezha Group representative, employee of the holding Svetlana Kuzmina

In 2022, Segezha Group built two four-story residential buildings made of CLT in Sokol. Residents of the Sokoliki residential complex, who have been living in their apartments for more than a year, are satisfied with the microclimate and condition of the apartments.

According to the World Green Building Council, buildings currently account for 39% of global carbon emissions, of which 28% are emissions during building use and 11% are emissions associated with building materials. By mid-century, as the world population approaches 10 billion, the global building stock is expected to double. It is believed that by this time, green construction technologies will be especially in demand.

Let us remind you that the International Forum “Ecology: City, Economy, People” is taking place in Vologda from April 20 to 27.
