The Central Federal District Weightlifting Championships are being held in Yaroslavl.

The championship and championship of the Central Federal District in weightlifting started at the Yarbatut multifunctional sports center in Yaroslavl. More than 350 athletes from 16 regions take part in the competition.

Athletes will demonstrate their professional training in competitions in classical combined events – snatch and clean and jerk. A tough fight will take place in each weight category. The Yaroslavl region will be represented by 30 people from Yaroslavl, Rybinsk, Tutaev and Danilov.

Based on the results of the competition, the best among men and women will have the opportunity to compete at the Russian Championship in Novosibirsk, and among boys and girls aged 13–17 years – at the final stage of the Summer Student Spartakiad.
